ExpressJet Flight Attendants will begin voting on their
new tentative agreement on August 2nd. Voting
will take place in each domicile for eight consecutive days
beginning on the 2nd and running through August 9th.
Each ExpressJet Flight Attendant will receive the complete
text of the tentative agreement by mail and have the
opportunity to attend an informational meeting to have any
questions answered prior to voting. We will notify the
membership when the tentative agreements have been mailed.

ratification voting will be forthcoming. Your IAM Flight

By nearly a two to one margin, Flight Attendants at Gulf
Stream Airlines overwhelmingly voted for IAM
representation in today’s NMB election. As a result, the IAM
is now the certified bargaining agent for this group.
Second-quarter profits at Continental Airlines rose to
$198 million, up 98% from a year earlier. Continental
says higher fares and wage cuts helped offset soaring fuel
prices. The airline reports sales at continental.com for the
second quarter were up 55% year-over-year and "on target" to
book $3 billion in sales this year.
Northwest Attendants Start Contract Vote - Northwest
Airlines flight attendants will start voting today on a
contract that will save the bankrupt company $195 million a
year. Union leaders say they are confident workers will
ratify the agreement. Voting ends July 31st.
Lawmakers Clear Major Hurdles, Closer To Final Pension
Bill - Congress has resolved some major issues in its
pension bill negotiations, clearing the way for the bill to
be wrapped up before the August recess, according to
lawmakers. Airlines are pushing for the pension package to
allow them to stretch out pension funding, freeze benefits
and limit enrollment.
Northwest Pressures Mesaba For Wage Cuts, Union Leader
Says - Pressure from Northwest Airlines has pushed
Mesaba Airlines to ask its employees for deep wage
concessions, the leader of the Air Line Pilots Association
Duane Woerth, says. Mesaba wants to secure regional jets
from Northwest in a bidding war among regional carriers,
Woerth added. Both airlines are trying to reorganize in
bankruptcy proceedings.
Comair, Flight Attendants Will Return To Talks -
Comair and its flight attendants will return to contract
negotiations next week while a bankruptcy judge considers
whether to allow the company to void the workers' contract.
"We remain open and willing to reaching a consensual deal,"
a Comair spokeswoman said.
